IV Infusion Nurse, RN

As an IV Infusion Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized intravenous therapy to patients seeking nutritional support and supplementation.
Knowledge of vitamins, minerals, and natural treatments is preferred.
Your primary responsibility will be to administer intravenous infusions safely and efficiently while ensuring the well-being and comfort of our patients.
You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care and contribute to the overall success of the clinic.
This is a part-time position, (3) 5-hour shifts totaling 15 hours total for the week.
Monday-Thursday, no weekends or holidays.
Must be able to commute between Quarryville and New Holland Key
Responsibilities:
1.
Patient Assessment:
Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine their nutritional needs, medical history, and suitability for IV infusion therapy.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to establish appropriate treatment plans.
2.
IV Infusion Administration:
Take vitals, Prepare and administer intravenous infusions according to the prescribed treatment plan and established clinic protocols.
Ensure the accurate and safe delivery of nutritional supplements and fluids.
3.
Monitoring and Documentation:
Monitor patients closely during the infusion process to observe any adverse reactions or complications.
Document patient responses to therapy, vital signs, and any notable changes in their condition accurately and in a timely manner.
4.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families about the purpose, benefits, and potential side effects of IV infusion therapy.
Provide instructions on self-care and any necessary follow-up procedures.
5.
Equipment Management:
Maintain and manage IV equipment, ensuring proper functioning, cleanliness, and adequate supplies are available.
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
6.
Collaborative Teamwork:
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, dietitians, and support staff, to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes.
7.
Quality Assurance:
Comply with all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
8.
Continual Professional Development:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in IV infusion therapy, nutrition, and related medical practices.
Pursue opportunities for professional growth and attend relevant workshops or training programs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania- Previous experience in administering IV infusions or intravenous therapy is preferred.
- Strong understanding of nutrition-based care and its applications in healthcare.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple patient cases efficiently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Empathetic and compassionate approach towards patient care.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and treatment modalities as the clinic evolves.
