Safety Engineer

An agricultural and construction equipment manufacturer is currently seeking a Safety Specialist to be the driving force in the implementation of behavior based safety culture in the New Holland, PA area. This is a 6 month CONTRACT position, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only, no per diem available.
Responsibilities for the Safety Engineer
Develop and implement program/procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce occupational hazards associated with plant operations.
Develop, implement and influence a proactive safety culture at the plant that is consistent World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and OHSAS 18001.
Develop, conduct and coordinate safety training and communication programs, and participate in incident investigations, determine root causes and follow-up on corrective actions
Perform Risk Analysis and safety inspections, and track, report and analyze metrics indicative of safety performance
Requirements for the Safety Engineer
Bachelor's Degree in Safety or Industrial Health or similar 4 year degree with significant Safety experience
3-5 years in a safety role preferred and preferably in a manufacturing environment
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and regulations including hazard communication, hearing conservation, confined space, lockout/tagout, emergency response, powered industrial trucks, machine guarding, recordkeeping, PPE and ergonomics.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification is a plus but not required
