Homemaker

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to ensure that the varied needs of the elders are met by focusing on the elders' choices about their daily life.
  • Provides for and or prepares all meals and dietary needs for the household.
  • Assists the household staff in the serving of all resident meals.
  • Properly stores and rotates all food items in the household.
  • Responsible for clean up, sanitation and project cleaning for the dining room and kitchen.
  • Restock kitchen and pantry for their household.
  • Assume responsibility for meeting household meal schedules.
  • Keeps the household rooms and common areas clean using routine cleaning standards as well as those performed on a project basis.
  • Cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment after each use and reports malfunctions to HHC.
  • Ensure that Household elders have opportunities to participate in community circles, activities and events of their choosing.
  • Will be responsible to provide activities for residents in their household, conducting programs, visits and activities geared to the interest and abilities of their elders. They will document activity participation and responses in Caretracker.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read menus, diet cards, recipes and understand measurement and categories of food for special diets.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
  • Must be efficient and organized, with a good sense of responsibility and a high degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Must treat residents with kindness, cheerfulness and respect.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
